Looking at the threads about next season, everyone seems to be assuming that DJ will stay.

I would have thought that he would be an attractive target for a newly promoted Premiership club :

1. Blues player of the season (i.e. "better than" Upson, KC, Pennant, etc)

2. Modest wages

3. Versatile

4. Great attitude

5. Excellent fitness record

I'd buy him anyway.

I guess that he wants to play in the Prem as much as anybody.

I read on a website yesterday that he would be one of them leaving in the summer. I so hope this isn't the case- we need him now more than ever.
I agree that some premiership clubs would be interested in him and I would understand if he wanted to go- he owes us nothing really! I'd be very sad to see him go though. :(

Good point but I think the only way he'd leave is if he asked to, which I find unlikely to be honest because as Bruce says "he's an honest lad thats for sure!". Blues valuation of what hes worth to us would never be met by another club who I dont think realise his impact on games. We would never get more than £2m IMO

i don't think he's the kind of player who would drop us like that. although i'm aware that he is ridiculously underpaid compared to the ''big names'' at the club

I hope he does stay, he is one of those players you need in a team, not the most skillful, but a great workhorse and puts his all in each game. He does appear to be the loyal type and would hope he stays but I wouldn't begrudge him if he did have a chance to play prem footie next season. (Although Fingers crossed he doesn't)

IMO Johnson is the one person who could leave this club and the fans would all wish him luck. That guy has always given his heart and soul for the team and I hope he continues. If he wanted to go I would be sorry to see him leave.

The thought of DJ leaving has never really entered by head.

He is a loyal player who works hard for his team and manager.

I hope he stays

I have mixed opinions on this. I would love him to stay, as for me, along with many others, he has been our player of the year.

On the other hand, he is paid peanuts compared to some and he has done probably three or four times as much work as these people so if a Premiership club came in for him, I would say go and get your big signing on fee - you deserve it.

That sums it up for me aswell.

After all hes done we should, in good faith, raise his wages.

i agree - he must be well racked off at being one of two players who actually get sweat on their shirts every game....maybe he'd be better appreciated elsewhere, but every team needs a player like him and we're no exception so they should up his wages and keep him imo.. **thumbup

Aye! If KC retires then he would be the obvious choice in my opinion.

There are a select few that deserve praise this season and he is on the top off that list, certain players on Saturday couldn't wait to get of that pitch (eg. Mario) but he wasn't, top bloke and easily player of the season.

i wouldnt blame dj for going as i can see someone coming in for him as he gives his all and never stops running, and up until recently has never got the praise he deserves from our supporters, even before the villa game people were suggesting we drop him and play jarosik and dunn!

i just hope he stays, maybe winning player of the season will amke him realise that we want him to stay, so get voting for him!

That's why I posted it. Most folk seem to be taking it for granted that he will stay. Any half-decent agent should be able to get him a couple of premiership offers.

As others have said, he is one of the few that I would shake hands with & wish well if he decided to leave.

I would not blame him if a good offer came in, and he could stay in the Premiership. He's been the one bright spot on a dim and gloomy season.

He does not deserve to be relegated. I'll be gutted if he left.

Funny how 80% people slagged him off last year. He was not crap last year it was because we had another player by the name of savage. Which i think they are like for like and people just did not value him enough. He was a unsung hero for to long. but if he goes then we just gotta move on and find a replacement.

i dont think he will leave he seems to really love the club and isnt the kind to think he is to good for this league . he will be a brilliant player in the chamionship and will dominate the midfield with nafti or someone like that every week.
